Kelbaker Rd. north out of Kelso doesn't really take you anywhere other than Baker on the 15 Fwy. If you need gas or food this route might make sense but while this road is vacant and very fun to drive it is a little out of the way. It does tie in to the 127 at Baker, which can take you north towards Death Valley if this is your destination.

The main drawback to this road is that it is not maintained by anybody. This means the edge of the roadway is badly deteriorated and there is dirt and gravel on the road in many places; motorcycles should probably avoid this route. The upshot is that not many people come out this way so if you are willing to accept the risks you can have some serious high-speed fun out here.
